"Rearing Spiritual Children to Serve the Saviour", By Dr. Terry Coomer. Click Here

As a pastor for many years I have become greatly concerned and greatly burdened over the number of children who grow up not to serve the Saviour from Christian homes. There seems to be a real lack of practical, spiritual, biblical training going on in this apostate hour. I am also greatly concerned about the number of Christian families that are blowing apart and the tragedy that results from these lives. It is the desire of this ministry to help, encourage, and to provide training and biblical help to families to not lose their children and for parents to know what it means to be godly parents, husbands, and wives. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Contributions and support are appreciated to provide for the work of the ministry.

The Difficulties Of Pride In Our Life

Proverbs 16:17-25, The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul. Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord happy is he. The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning. Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly. The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips. Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. There is a way that seemeth right unto a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death.

In working with people in our counseling/discipleship program, I find that the area of pride is one of the most difficult things we as Christians deal with. Probably the most difficult sin to conquer in our life is pride. It hides itself very well in our lives. It is a deceitful and elusive sin. It is also a root sin. By that, I mean, it produces a lot of other sins. Any time you see a person with an anger issue in their life it comes from pride, Proverbs 21:24, Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath. Many people have seen their home destroyed because they were too proud to admit they need counsel and to seek help. Because pride steals glory that is due to God alone, there are few sins that bring the level of destruction that pride brings.

How to Overcome Daily Anxiety and Worry

Anxiety and worry! Ugh! Makes you tried to think about it! I believe these are two of the things that cause a multitude of problems in the lives of Christians and ultimately the home life of the believer. For many people it leads to destruction. In the emails we receive at For The Love Of The Family, many people are distressed about their many “life issues.” Just living is hard! Relationships, children, marital, financial, job, and many other things as the list could go on and on! Life issues sometimes are perplexing and the wrong choices in a life issue can create more stress, worry, and anxiety for the person. Many people create their own life issues by not making Biblical choices. A number of people we talk with in our counseling program really struggle with their life choices. Ultimately, life is a choice! It all comes down to the way I determine my choices.

A Miracle Story of God's Grace
The Testimony Of Teresa Coomer Steege

Sometimes God does miraculous things in a person's life. After 11 years of marriage and not to have any children, Teresa Steege found out she was pregnant and this was an answer to prayer for her. As her parents, Kim and I, prayed about a child for her and her husband Ron on a daily basis. We wanted God's will in this, but we knew they wished to have children. God miraculously answered their prayers and ours. However, what followed in the birth and difficult circumstances of Zoe Grace Steege is a miracle of God's grace. Teresa has done some speaking to ladies groups and given her testimony about what God did in a miraculous way through very difficult circumstances. She shares what she felt and what she learned about God's grace. I want to encourage you to read it carefully, and we hope it will be an encouragement to ladies on For the Love Of The Family and their families. We hope you will share it with others and we are thankful for what God has done.
